Because you need more space to yourself: Per definition a studio is a one-room apartment that is living area, kitchen, and bedroom all in one. The studios at the Schwarzen Adler are a bit more than the standard option. Whether they are compact and cozy, or with multiple rooms, a balcony, or a sauna: they offer exactly what you're looking for, in unique designs.

The studios are available from 3:00 pm. You are also welcome to check in earlier: if the studio is already prepared, we will be happy to hand over the keys. Should it take until 3:00 pm, you can store your luggage with us in the meantime.

Reception is open until 9:00 pm. Please let us know if you expect to arrive later — we will be glad to prepare everything for a late check-in.

On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to check out between 7:30 am and 11:00 am.

If you plan to leave very early in the morning, we kindly ask you to settle the bill the evening before.

If you would like to stay longer, we will be happy to check the possibility of a late check-out.

Because we want to know you better: Please bring your ID document with you when you check in.

Do you like to travel green? The activeCARD lets you use all public transport in South Tyrol free of charge. The card is valid for the duration of your stay. Besides your trips on public transport, the card also includes other attractions as well as exciting discounts. Your personal activeCARD awaits you at check-in, meaning your car can also enjoy a well-earned break. And you can cruise through South Tyrol at your leisure. With connections at least once an hour. 

The prices for our studios are based on standard occupancy of two adults. The more, the merrier: For children and additional adults, we apply the following surcharges at the Schwarzer Adler

The stroller, the diaper bag, toys, and at least two outfits per day: traveling with our most precious little one also means a lot of luggage. That's why we help you with the packing and prepare a cozy crib and a diaper bin in your studio. For older children, we are happy to equip our beds with a bed rail. You'll find a kettle and the most common utensils in your studio kitchen. Of course, we've also thought of a drying rack, ironing board, and iron. Our studios offer exactly what parents are looking for: freedom, flexibility, and comfort.

We know that a trip without your four-legged companion somehow feels incomplete. That’s why furry friends of all sizes are very welcome in our spacious studios and Italian Restaurant. Thank you for understanding that the spa area is reserved for two-legged guests. 

Sterzing is THE place to be for big and small pups. You’ll find all the information about the best routes for walkies, dog-friendly hikes, vets (just in case), and where the emergency treats are in our dog brochure. So that your loyal companion enjoys the heights of comfort, you’ll find a cosy dog bed and food bowl in your studio. We charge an extra €15.00 per night (without food) for the additional cleaning required.

Concept Living à la Schwarzer Adler stands for freedom and flexibility. That’s why your package includes breakfast. As poet William Cowper once wrote: “Variety is the spice of life.” And you’ll find that variety in the cuisine at our Italian restaurant. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free – you’ll find everything you could wish for here.

P.S. The Italian restaurant will be taking a break from November 9th to November 24th. In November and December, the restaurant team will be off on Mondays. However, the usual winner’s breakfast will still be available in the morning!

Sterzing is a real all-rounder. A well-known trading centre since the Middle Ages, the old and new towns are today a shopping hotspot filled with elegant boutiques. Action fans are spoilt for choice in Sterzing and environs all year round: hiking routes, mountain carts, a summer toboggan run, rafting on the Isarco/Eisack river, three ski areas and toboggan runs, horse-drawn sleigh rides, the Sterzing Christmas market, plus castles, ancient ruins, museums … the list goes on. Happiness is … leaving the first tracks on the ski slopes. From the Schwarzer Adler, you can reach three top-class ski areas in next to no time – Monte Cavallo/Rosskopf, Ladurns, and Racines-Giovo/Ratschings-Jaufen –, meaning avid skiers are sure to find the perfect slope for them. By the way, Sterzing offers much more for sports enthusiasts!

Because calmness is the key to success, our studios offer you a private hideaway where you can work in peace. Bring along your laptop and work in a cosy atmosphere with views of the mountains.

Great choice! Because you’re as dedicated to sustainability as we are, you can enjoy a comfortable, eco-friendly journey to Sterzing by train. We’ll be happy to assist you with transport to and from Sterzing train station.

If you'd like to stretch your legs upon arrival, you can reach the Schwarzer Adler on foot in about 10-15 minutes:

• From the train station, walk to the right along Bahnhofstraße (Via Stazione), cross the bridge, and continue straight until you reach the large fenced parking lot.
• Now, turn right onto Neustadt.
• At the end of the Neustadt alley, you'll see it: the Zwölferturm tower, watching over the town square – with the Schwarzer  Adler to its left.

For an easy and comfortable journey, we recommend the following airports:

• Innsbruck (INN): approx. 55 km / 45–60 min by car
• Bolzano (BZO): approx. 70 km / 45–55 min by car
• Verona (VRN): approx. 190 km / 2 h 15 min by car
• Milan (MXP/LIN/BGY): approx. 250–320 km / 3–3.5 h by car
• Munich (MUC): approx. 200 km / 2–2.5 h by car

Depending on your airport of arrival, you have several options to reach us:

Rental car:
Travel independently and comfortably. We recommend reserving a parking space for the duration of your stay.
Once in Vipiteno/Sterzing, you don't necessarily need a car thanks to the excellent public transport network, which you can use free of charge with our Active Card.
Still, having a car can be convenient if you plan more complex day trips or want to explore areas that are less accessible by public transport.

Public transport:
All airports offer bus connections to the nearest main train stations, from where you can take a train to Vipiteno/Sterzing / Val di Vizze.

• If you are arriving from the south, your Active Card covers regional trains from Trento to Vipiteno.
• It’s also valid on the Brennero → Vipiteno regional train.
  You can pick up your Active Card on the morning of your arrival.

Private transfers:
You can book a private shuttle or transfer service that will bring you directly to our hotel.

We are happy to help you organize your transfer from the airport to the hotel – and of course also for your journey back.

Vipiteno is easily accessible via the Brenner motorway, both from the south and the north. At the Vipiteno/Sterzing exit, take the second exit at the roundabout and continue straight. Keep going straight (also at the second small roundabout) until you reach the intersection where you should turn left into Frundsberg Street.

Follow the street until you see a church on the left and a sign on a house wall on the right pointing towards the Stadtapotheke and one towars Schwarzer Adler.

At the end of the passage, just before the post office and just before the passage divides itself into two little alleys, on the left-hand side you will see a large black gate and a house with black balconies. To the right of the gate there is a doorbell. You are welcome to unload your luggage in the courtyard and – if booked or still available – park your car there.

Being located in the heart of the historic center of Vipiteno, there are few parking spaces directly at the hotel. For guests arriving with an electric car, some of these spaces are also equipped with charging stations. Alternatively, you can park your car about an 3-5-minute walk away in our second private parking lot.

In both cases, your parking space is guaranteed for the duration of your stay: it will be available from check-in at 3:00 PM until check-out at 11:00 AM on your departure day.

Parking fees: 
Hotel car park: €19.00 per day
Car park near the hotel: €12.00 per day

You simply don’t want to leave the Schwarzer Adler yet? We understand that. That's why we offer you late check-out options – depending on availability and for a fee: either in your studio or in our zen zone. A quick message to the Schwarzer Adler reservation team is all it takes, and we'll take care of it.

Payments must be secure and flexible. For everyone involved. That's why you pay 30% of the total price of your booking as a deposit via bank transfer. We will send you our bank details and other information in our provisional booking confirmation. To ensure we can correctly allocate your deposit, we kindly ask you to make the payment only after receiving our preliminary booking confirmation.

Anyone who purchases the Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package as an additional service to the accommodation gets an extended cancellation right. In this case, the deposit amount to be transferred is 30% of the booking price, plus an additional €10.00 per night and per accommodation unit for the Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package.

Nobody likes to leave things half-done: So please don’t forget to transfer the deposit. For our planning purposes, we prefer to register your deposit right away or at the latest 72 hours after your booking. If no deposit has been received by then, we will cancel your provisional reservation. For last-minute bookings, please make the deposit as soon as possible. 
Once we have received your payment, we’ll quickly send you your final booking confirmation: Then it's time to pack your bags and head to Schwarzer Adler!

You can conveniently pay the remaining balance of your stay on-site with cash, debit, or credit card. Please note the legal requirements for cash payments in Italy. (Limit for cash payments as of July 2024: €4,999.99).

Of course, we have also thought of a solution if something doesn’t go according to (flight) plan: a Schwarzer Adler parachute, so to speak. At the time of booking, you can buy our Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package for €10.00 per night and accommodation unit. This allows you to cancel your stay free of charge at any time under certain conditions.

In this case, the deposit amount to be transferred is 30% of the booking price, plus an additional €10.00 per night and per accommodation unit for the Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package. Should you need to cancel your trip at any time, we will refund the portion of the deposit corresponding to 30% of the booking price, provided the necessary documentation is submitted. Since the Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package includes a cancellation option, the portion of the deposit for this additional service is non-refundable.

To be able to “open your parachute”, you need to provide:

• the personal data of your travel companions during the booking process
• a medical certificate or a document confirming serious reasons that make your stay impossible.

Your Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package will also cover the missed nights if you need to start your trip later or end it earlier for the same type of reasons. (Please note that the Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package is only available at the time of booking! It is not possible to add it to your booking at a later time)

Things don’t always go according to plan. If you have to cancel, the following conditions apply:

Know that:

• The Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package protects against the fees here listed. 
• For bookings made by phone or online, there is no right of withdrawal according to the Consumer Protection Code (Art. 59, Paragraph 1, letter N of the Consumer Protection Code).
• The Schwarzer Adler Non-Refundable Rate is exempt from the following regulations.

Cancellation up to the tenth day before your booked arrival	Free of charge. The deposit will be refunded.
Cancellation from the ninth day before your booked arrival	30% of the total price. The deposit will be withheld.
Cancellation from the third day before your booked arrival	100% of the total price. The deposit will be withheld. The remaining amount will be invoiced.

There are things that cannot be postponed. However, you still really want to stay at the Schwarzen Adler, just for a shorter time. The following regulations apply if you need to change your arrival or your departure dates.

Know that:

• The Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package protects against the fees here listed. 
• For bookings made by phone or online, there is no right of withdrawal according to the Consumer Protection Code (Art. 59, Paragraph 1, letter N of the Consumer Protection Code).
• The Schwarzer Adler Non-Refundable Rate is exempt from the following regulations.

Change of your arrival or departure date up to the tenth day before your booked arrival	Free of charge
Change of your arrival or departure date from the ninth day before your booked arrival	30% of the unused nights
Change of your arrival or departure date from the third day before your booked arrival	100% of the unused nights
Date changements in periods with minimum stay requirements: We maintain minimum stays of at least 4 nights during periods of high demand (holidays and August). If a stay is shortened to a length that no longer meets the minimum stay requirements, we will charge 100% of the nights required to fulfill the minimum stay.	100% of the required nights

You don't let changes in plans deter you from your goal: Very good! Should you need to change dates for your stay in its entirety, we have the following regulations.

Know that:

• The Schwarzer Adler Worry-Free Package protects against the fees here listed.
• For bookings made by phone or online, there is no right of withdrawal according to the Consumer Protection Code (Art. 59, Paragraph 1, letter N of the Consumer Protection Code).
• The Schwarzer Adler Non-Refundable Rate is exempt from the following regulations.

• A change of the entire stay, maintaining the same number of nights, is possible free of charge until four days before your booked arrival. The new booking price will be calculated based on availability and the applicable daily rates for the new booking period. Changing travel dates under these conditions is possible once.
   
• Should you need to reschedule your entire stay, maintaining the same number of nights, from the third day before your booked arrival, the deposit from the original booking will be retained

• Payment of the full amount is due at the time of booking.
• The payment is binding and non-refundable.

What if something comes up?
Please note:

• By confirming your booking with the Schwarzer Adler Non-Refundable Rate, you accept the booking and payment terms.
• For bookings made over the phone or online, there is no right of withdrawal under the Consumer Protection Code (Art. 59, para. 1, lett. N of the Consumer Protection Code).

I booked my studio with the Schwarzer Adler Non-Refundable Rate. Now I need to cancel my booking. What now?
As the name suggests, in case of cancellation, nothing will be refunded.

I booked my studio with the Schwarzer Adler Non-Refundable Rate. Now I need to shorten my stay. Is that possible?
You can certainly shorten your stay, but even in this case, nothing will be refunded.

I booked my studio with the Schwarzer Adler Non-Refundable Rate. Now I need to reschedule my entire stay. Is that possible?
We understand that sometimes things come up.
Therefore, you can reschedule your entire stay, keeping the same number of nights, up until the fourth day before your scheduled arrival, on a one-time basis. The new booking price will be calculated based on availability and the applicable daily rates for the new booking period. If the price for the new dates is lower, no refund will be given. If the price is higher, the difference must be paid at the time of rescheduling.

Rescheduling your entire stay from the third day before your scheduled arrival is not possible. The booking will be canceled, and no refund will be issued.
 

How can I pay for my booking with the Schwarzer Adler Non-Refundable Rate?
Payments must be secure and flexible – for all parties involved. Therefore, you will pay the total amount of your booking with the Schwarzer Adler Non-Refundable Rate as a deposit via bank transfer. We will send you our bank details and other information in our provisional booking confirmation. To ensure we can correctly allocate your deposit, we kindly ask you to make the payment only after receiving our preliminary booking confirmation.

Please send us the transfer receipt within 72 hours of booking. If no deposit has been received by then, we will cancel your provisional reservation. For last-minute bookings, please make the deposit as soon as possible. 

Once we have received your payment, we’ll quickly send you your final booking confirmation: Then it's time to pack your bags and head to Schwarzer Adler!

You can conveniently pay for extras on-site with cash, debit, or credit card. Please note the legal requirements for cash payments in Italy. (Limit for cash payments as of July 2024: €4,999.99).

You can choose how green you want to be. If you decide to do without the cleaning services for stays of at least two nights, you’ll save €10.00 a day per studio starting from the second night. Sound good?
